My Friend in the Little Red Farmhouse!

My son Jake is spending the night at the cutest little red farmhouse tonight.  My friend Kim and her husband and three boys have worked hard and were finally able to move in to their dream  farmhouse this past year.  When I dropped Jake off this afternoon, visited with Kim, and checked out her blackberry bushes, it dawned on me that I have plenty of friends and family who would be interested in their work.....and she does already have an awesome blog with lots of pics!  Check it out at http://www.redfarmhouse.blogspot.com/.

The saga of building their dream farmhouse, dreamy not because of square footage but because of design and decor, is quite a tale.  It caught the interest of The Daily Oklahoman, where the family's work was described as a "not-so-big masterpiece".  And the chicken coop ain't so bad, either.

If I didn't love Kim so much, I might be childishly envious of her everyday Martha Stewart-esque abilities and her inside-and-out beauty.  Oh, I know she's not perfect -- she's cruel to her children and she drinks like a fi....oh, okay...I'm lying.  She's perfect.  ;)  But check out her blog and see for yourself. :)

If I was so perfect I wouldn't have sent you home with a nasty, spit it out, bitter cucumber in your dinner salad! What is true is that you are a sweet friend. We love having Jake over and hope it has been a good break from the stresses in your life right now. Praying for you everyday. By the way, Martha Stewart and I have more in common than one would think (jail time).

Oh, the nurse at the ER said that the hours Scott spent retching and vomiting last night did strengthen his core muscles and was beneficial in the long run. Silver lining! ;)

And this 'jail time' business sounds like a good topic for another blog!! I'll be watching "Lil Red Farmhouse.com" for the details!

That has to be the cutest little house I've ever seen! You know we're buying some land off Waterloo and building a house...Kim may be getting a random email from your cousin asking for tips. :) We're going to need a chicken coop and somewhere to keep goats! Is scott okay? Did he start the Interferon or is it from his surgery? Praying for you guys.

Hey Miss EB! I guess since you're a married old woman, I should call you "Ms EB", hm? :) I had no idea you're wanting a little farm of your own! Fabulous! I know that Kim would be a big source of info and she's sweet to boot. :) She and her husband are a very cool combo of left and right brainery....he has an engineer's eye (not the toot!toot! kind...although he may very well like trains) and she is an artist. Literally. So follow her blog if you like what you see. Follow my blog...mmm...just 'cause you love me. :)

Oh...you asked about Scott. We see the oncologist this week and will probably start interferon the week after. Pain slightly better than...say...last week, but car rides are still misery and he can't sit through church yet. :(

Yes. We are so excited. Just waiting on a final loan approval so we can start talking to builders. It's about a 25 minute drive from our house now to the land, so not bad at all. All the families that live on this 25 acre plot are homeschooling families that go to Life! It is a total God thing. The loan we got is a fixed 1% interest govt. loan for rural development. God is good. Praying for you guys. Love you.
